Exhibition stands Munich – choose quality with Mel-Expo
-------------------------------------------------------

Munich is one of the most important places on the map of international industry events. That is hardly surprising – it is here, on the Messe München grounds, that leaders from all over the world meet every year to share innovations and ideas and to create real opportunities for growth. For Polish companies this means a chance to make their name on the international stage, forge strategic contacts and strengthen their market position. Messe München GmbH, based at 81823 München, is not merely an organiser – it is a driving force behind global events that attract hundreds of thousands of visitors. In this guide I will show you how to prepare properly for taking part in one of them: from choosing a stand builder, through budget planning, to logistics on site. One thing is certain – an exhibition stand in Munich can be a turning point for your business, provided you approach it with a clear head.

Choosing a stand builder – who will build your stand?
-----------------------------------------------------

If you want to stand out among hundreds of exhibitors in halls covering a combined area of more than 200,000 m², you will not get far without a dependable stand construction partner. Going it alone rarely suffices, particularly in the face of fierce international competition. As you review the options, pay close attention to each contractor’s experience and flexibility.

### The cost of exhibition space in Munich

Planning a trade fair appearance has to begin with the budget. Rental costs depend on the type of stand, and every configuration has its own rates:

- **row stand** (open on one side): 226-595 EUR/m²,
- **corner stand** (open on two sides): 237-635 EUR/m²,
- **peninsula stand** (open on three sides): 253-710 EUR/m²,
- **island stand** (open on four sides): 272-730 EUR/m².

On top of that come the extras: technical infrastructure (25-270 EUR), waste disposal (roughly 8.50-9.50 EUR/m²) and the catalogue entry, which costs between 970 and 1,300 EUR. These items are not worth leaving out of your calculation – they can shift the final balance considerably.

Technical rules and building permits
------------------------------------

Messe München places great emphasis on safety, which is why the standards here are fairly strict. The standard build height is a maximum of 3 metres, and gangways may be no narrower than 2 metres.

If you are planning a taller stand or a double-decker structure, you will need formal approval – a Baugenehmigungsantrag. Meeting the deadline is crucial: the complete documentation must be submitted at least four weeks before build-up begins in the hall.

### Logistics and transport to the fair (the FairLog system)

Send trade fair consignments to: Am Messesee 2, 81829 München. To prevent congestion in the delivery zones, Messe München has introduced the FairLog system. Every company has to book an exact time slot in advance for entry and unloading.

It is best to work with the recommended transport and logistics providers, who know the realities of trade fair work inside out: DHL, Lufthansa Cargo and DACHSER. With them you will avoid needless stress and delays, and the whole process will move at the pace it should.

Upcoming events – where is it worth being?
------------------------------------------

Munich never slows down. Events run throughout the year, and many of them deserve particular attention. One of the next big dates is **BAU 2025** – in January it will draw thousands of companies from the construction sector. Polish participation here is exceptionally strong: at BAU 2023 Poland came fourth in terms of the number of exhibitors (81 stands, excluding the host country).

In short: success at a Munich trade fair takes three things – well-thought-out logistics (FairLog), an experienced construction partner (ESBAU or Booth Vision, for example) and sound budget planning. Get those elements in tune and your stand will quickly pay for itself, in contacts and in real business alike. The market will notice.
