Exhibition stands Hanover – choose quality with Mel-Expo
For many companies, taking part in a German industrial trade fair is a genuine chance to carry their offer beyond the home market and build international trading relationships. The Hanover fairs, and exhibition stands in Hanover in particular, are where innovation meets business. Tens of thousands of visitors, hundreds of conversations and contracts that actually get signed – all of it happens here, but only if you arrive well prepared. So we have put together a step-by-step guide for you: how to book a stand, what to expect in terms of cost and whether you can promote yourself free of charge. Let us begin.
Where the heart of industry beats – organiser and location
Hanover has long served as the industrial capital of the European trade fair calendar. Events are run by Deutsche Messe AG, which is the body to approach about booking space and about technical matters. The fairs take place at the Messegelände Hannover – a vast complex that is impossible to miss.
If you are arranging deliveries or logistics, remember one crucial address: Hermesallee. It gets you precisely to the designated zones without circling the whole city.
Exhibiting options – how to book a stand?
Before you reserve anything, you have to decide which route to take. There are two:
- renting space individually through the organiser,
- joining a national pavilion with backing from institutions such as PARP, the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development.
These are two completely different models, both financially and operationally.
Renting exhibition space on your own
If complete independence matters to you, booking a stand directly with Deutsche Messe AG may well be the right call. The flexibility is considerable, but you have to be ready for the budget. The price per m² (bare space, without any build) usually falls between 150 and 400 EUR.
On top of that, prepare for:
- the cost of utilities (water, power, internet): roughly 1,500 EUR for 80 m²,
- logistics – transport, assembly and insurance,
- the design and build of the stand – either handled yourself or as a turnkey package.
Keep an eye on the total cost, which can end up several times higher than the price of the space alone.
The Polish National Pavilion – a chance to promote yourself for free
Every year PARP organises shared stands for domestic companies from selected sectors – in 2025 these include electronics and photonics. For companies that qualify, taking part is completely free of charge, funded under the de minimis aid scheme.
You do have to keep to the deadlines, though. Applications are accepted until 7 March 2025.
Booking a place through the national operator
Registering through PARP involves more formality than renting directly, but it costs you nothing:
- Complete the online form available on the PARP website.
- Sign the documents with a qualified or trusted electronic signature.
- If anything is unclear, get in touch by email: electro_brand@parp.gov.pl.

A comparison of the main ways to take part
| Option | Cost | Who is it for? | Requirements | Advantages |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Renting space individually | 150-400 EUR/m² plus utilities and build | Companies with a larger budget | Registration with Deutsche Messe AG | Complete freedom of layout |
| National pavilion (PARP) | 0 PLN | Qualifying companies from supported sectors | Application on time, electronic signature | Substantial cost savings |
Practical information for exhibitors
Taking part in the fair is only half the battle; the other half is planning your stay properly. Just do not confuse the organiser with a travel agency. Accommodation and tourism are handled by Hannover Marketing und Tourismus GmbH, based at Ernst-August-Platz 8. If you are looking for a hotel, that is where to go. Anything technical to do with the stand itself, on the other hand – from the power supply to the graphics – is the domain of Deutsche Messe AG.
Summary
Choosing to take part in Hannover Messe 2025 sends a clear signal: you are investing in growth and want to build contacts worldwide. Whether you rent space individually or go with PARP support depends entirely on your strategy and your resources. One thing is certain, though: these decisions have to be made well in advance. The PARP deadline falls on 7 March. The leading exhibitors are already reserving their places. Do not be left behind.
